Sharing & portfolios
Own a money space, invite partners, and control who can view or change data.
What a portfolio is
A portfolio is a self-contained finance workspace: accounts, buckets, income, assets, settings, and history. Your home screen lists portfolios you own plus ones shared with you, and any pending invites.
Permissions
| Permission | Typical access |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control, including sharing and ownership-level settings. |
| Edit | Create and change accounts, transactions, buckets, income, and related data. |
| Comment | Participate without mutating balances (when comment workflows apply). |
| View | Read-only visibility into the portfolio. |
Mutation actions (new transactions, structural edits) require Edit or Owner. Viewers can explore without risk of changing numbers.
Invites
- Owner (or allowed role) creates a portfolio share/invite with a permission level.
- Invitee sees the invite on their home screen (or follows an invite path).
- Accept to add the portfolio to their list; decline to ignore it.
Multiple portfolios
You can keep separate portfolios for truly separate contexts (for example household vs a rental property partnership). Prefer one portfolio when people need a single combined picture of the same money.
Security notes
- Only share with people you trust with that level of financial visibility.
- Use strong unique passwords; reset via forgot-password if needed.
- Sessions use short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens.
