Delete your PebbleHoard account

PebbleHoard Finance (operated by Illuminating Software LLC) lets you delete your account and associated data directly from the product — no support ticket required.

Steps to delete your account

1. Sign in at app.pebblehoard.com, or open the PebbleHoard mobile app and sign in.
2. Go to Profile.
3. Select Delete my account… under the "Delete account" section.
4. If you own any shared portfolios, choose for each one whether to transfer ownership to a co-member or permanently delete that portfolio — this choice is required before you can continue.
5. Enter your password and type DELETE to confirm.
6. Submit. Your account is deleted immediately and you're signed out on all devices.

What gets deleted

• Your account profile: email, display name, password, and authentication sessions.
• Portfolios you own that have no co-members — deleted immediately, including their accounts, buckets, transactions, and receipt attachments.
• Portfolios you own that have co-members — deleted only if you chose "delete" rather than transferring ownership during the deletion flow.

What may be retained

We delete or anonymize personal data associated with the account within a reasonable period after deletion, except where we must retain information for legal, security, dispute, or accounting obligations — for example limited server logs or completed payment/invoice records required for financial recordkeeping. Portfolios you shared with others (where you are not the owner) are not deleted by your account closure; you simply leave them.

Delete specific data without deleting your account

You don't have to close your account to remove individual data. From inside the web or mobile app, you can permanently delete:

• Transactions and receipt photos — open a transaction in the account register and remove it or its attached receipt.
• Financial accounts — remove a checking, savings, or other account from a portfolio, along with its transaction history.
• Buckets — remove a budget bucket from Plan.
• Tags — remove a transaction tag.
• Funding rules — remove an automatic allocation rule.
• Lists and list items — remove a list or an item on it.
• Whole portfolios — an owner can delete an entire portfolio (or leave one they don't own) without deleting their PebbleHoard account.

These deletions happen immediately when you confirm them in the app. The same retention exceptions described above apply — for example, records tied to completed payments may be kept as required for financial recordkeeping.
